National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, also known as the “Wizard of Hockey.” The day is observed to honour his remarkable contribution to Indian sports and to promote the importance of games and physical activities in our daily lives.
This year, our school celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm. The program began with a special assembly where the students were informed about the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand. A short speech was delivered highlighting the significance of sports in building character, discipline, and teamwork.
Various sporting events like Volleyball, basketball, kho-kho matches were organized for different classes. The students participated actively, displaying true sportsmanship and team spirit. Teachers also encouraged the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and engage in physical activities regularly.
Manager Sir addressed the gathering and motivated the students to take inspiration from Major Dhyan Chand and other sportspersons who brought glory to the nation.
