“Don’t Waste Food — Every Grain Counts!”
David Model Senior Secondary School celebrated World Food Day on 16th October 2025 with great zeal and awareness across all grades, spreading the vital message of valuing and conserving food — the true essence of life.
The day’s celebrations began with a series of engaging and meaningful activities designed to instill gratitude, responsibility, and creativity among students.
Nursery to Class II:
The youngest learners of the school delivered a motivational speech highlighting the importance of food and healthy eating habits. Their innocent voices and confident expressions left everyone inspired, reminding all that “Good food leads to good mood.”
Classes VI to XII:
Senior students presented a powerful and thought-provoking group speech during the morning assembly. They emphasized that food is not merely a basic necessity but a precious resource that sustains life. Their words resonated deeply as they reminded everyone of the millions who struggle each day for a single meal. As the wise saying goes, “अन्न ही जीवन है,” and one must always remember, “उतना ही लो थाली में, जो न जाए नाली में।”
Teachers too encouraged students to adopt habits of responsible consumption and to treat food with reverence — as a blessing from nature and the tireless hands of farmers.
The event concluded with a profound message “Respect food, respect the hands that make it.”
The celebration not only ignited awareness but also reinforced a universal truth: saving food is not just a responsibility; it is an expression of gratitude and humanity.
