On 20th December, 2024 David Model Senior Secondary School hosted an exciting and thought-provoking Debate Competition of Middle Wing in Multipurpose Hall. The event attracted a large audience, including students, teachers, and school staff. The competition aimed to encourage students to enhance their public speaking skills, critical thinking, and ability to present arguments in a structured and persuasive manner.

The debate competition featured students from all four houses who were given unique titles like Eloquent, Veritas, Inquisitors and logicians. The topic of the debate was: Social Media - A Boon or A Bane.

The participants exhibited exceptional knowledge on the topic and presented compelling arguments with strong supporting evidence. The audience was captivated by their clear articulation, use of logic, and creative approaches to rebutting opposing views. The judges evaluated the participants based on several criteria, such as:
Presentation
Clarity of speech
Originality
Timing
Use of evidence and facts
Rebuttal skills

Each participant had the opportunity to present their opening statement, followed by a rebuttal round where they responded to opposing arguments. The competition concluded with a closing statement from each team.

After a rigorous evaluation, the winners were announced. Green House bagged the first place for their remarkable performance and excellent argumentation. The runners-up, Yellow House and Blue House were also commended for their impressive debating skills.

The debate competition proved to be a huge success, showcasing the talent and potential of the students. It was an excellent platform for students to express their opinions. The event also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and teamwork among the participants. In the end the event gained a lot of appreciation by MD ma'am and Principal sir.
